February is a tough month for people who go to the office every day. It's very cold, and without holiday festivities, it can feel pretty gloomy. But, people with remote jobs have it better.

They're cozy at home, avoiding traffic, and still getting their work done. Maybe now is the time for you to think about joining them.

We're going to give you a list of home-based jobs at Google you can apply for right now, and we’ll also talk a bit about how stable these jobs are in 2025 and what it’s really like to work from home these days.

Google's Home-Based Job Openings in February 2025

While some companies have stopped letting people work from home, Google still supports it. They don't have as many home-based jobs as Microsoft, but with 91 jobs open when this article was written, trying for a position at Google seems like a good move.

Below, we've listed a few of the remote jobs at Google:

  • Field Sales Representative, Public Sector, Google Cloud (in British Columbia, Canada)
  • Program Manager, Data Center Construction (in Tennessee, USA)
  • Manufacturing Engineer, Product Lifecycle, and Technical Operations (in Thailand)
  • And many more roles in sales, cybersecurity, and project coordination in various locations.

Remember, you don't have to live where the job is based, but being in the same time zone can help. You can find more jobs by looking at the Google Careers page and selecting the option for remote work.

Job Stability at Google

Once upon a time, getting a job at a big tech company like Google meant your job was pretty secure. But, by 2025, we see big tech companies laying off people, making everyone worry about job safety.

Google has started asking people for voluntary resignations, which often means layoffs might be coming, though no formal announcements have been made yet.

It's usually true that a company won't hire people only to lay them off shortly after, as hiring is expensive. But, remember, this is not always guaranteed.

Tips for Working From Home

Landing a remote job is only the beginning. After you're done reading this, you need to get ready for this new way of working. Make your resume look good for remote work and prepare for a phone or video interview since you might not have an in-person one.

Once you get the job, you'll need to stay focused even though you're home. Find a quiet spot for work and video calls, and make sure you maintain a balance between work and your personal life to avoid working all the time.

Looking for Remote Jobs in 2025

Believe it or not, Google isn't the only place hiring remote workers. Despite the news about companies making people come back to the office, many places still let you work from home. You just need to know where to look.
